According to application scenarios, it is mainly divided into three parts: power generation side, grid side, and user side.


Power generation side (solar power generation, wind power generation)

Solar and wind power generation has unstable factors such as gaps and fluctuations, and the impact on the power grid is too great. Equipped with energy storage batteries of appropriate power, the stable output of power can be guaranteed.

Grid side

The main application of power grid measurement is peak regulation and frequency regulation, and it is also the energy storage system application market with the highest return on investment in energy storage so far.

Why FM?

Frequency regulation of the power system is to maintain the stability of the frequency of the power grid system.

Example: The frequency of China's power grid is 50Hz. When the grid output active power is less than the load demand active power, the system frequency will decrease. Conversely, when the grid output active power is greater than the load demand active power, the system frequency will increase. The unbalance of system active power is the root cause of frequency deviation.

China's power grid stipulates that the frequency fluctuation of the grid in normal operation shall not exceed ±0.2Hz.

The frequency is lower than 49.5Hz, and the running time shall not exceed 60 minutes.

The frequency is lower than 49.0Hz, and the running time shall not exceed 30 minutes.

If the grid frequency is unstable and exceeds the specified range, it will cause damage and burning of electrical equipment.

Why peak shaving?

The peak-shaving design of the power system is a design of the peak-shaving capacity arrangement and equipment configuration to meet the needs of the daily load peak-to-valley difference of the power system and ensure the safe and economical operation of the power system.

User side (household energy storage, small industrial and commercial energy storage)

The main purpose of energy storage on the user side is backup power and peak shaving and valley filling.

The backup power is mainly used together with photovoltaic or wind power generation. The power generated by photovoltaic or wind turbine is given priority to the load, and the surplus power is stored in the energy storage battery. Ensure the reliability and stability of electricity consumption. The power selection of the energy storage battery depends on the continuous working hours of the energy storage battery × the power consumption in a single hour ÷ 90% of the conversion efficiency.

The main purpose of peak shaving and valley filling is to use electricity more economically. When the electricity price is cheap (valley time), the energy storage battery is charged, and when the electricity price is expensive (peak time), the energy storage battery is used for power supply, and the larger the peak-valley price difference is. , the higher the return on investment.
